Schonstedt Rex Multi-Frequency Pipe and Cable Locator - For Locating All Utilities

Rex is a multi-frequency locator with a price tag comparable to single-frequency locators. The sleek design of the transmitter is less than 2” thick and weighs less than 4 lbs. At slightly over 7 lbs., the entire system fits easily into a custom shoulder bag. This multi-frequency pipe and cable locator that can locate any utility. It should be noted that the new Rex locator is from Schonstedt Instrument Company which is a division of SPX Corporation. The unit is capable of locating and detecting all underground utilities. If you need to find water and sewer, electricity, telecommunications, or gas, the Rex is the one tool you need. Unlike single frequency locators with limited capabilities, the REX is a multi frequency locator with expanded capabilities. In terms of thickness and weight, the multi-frequency locator is less than 2" thick and weighs less than 4 pounds. It is compact enough to fit into a shoulder bag and weighs less than seven pounds as a whole. The Rex devices provide greater sensitivity to deeply buried utilities than most units on the market. A Rechargeable NiMH pack (12V) battery supplies power to the Rex transmitter. In addition to the full Rex model, there are two Rex Lite models available with limited frequencies. The Rex Lite specifications and versions are shown on the following product pages: Rex Lite at 82 kHz and 512 Hz and Rex Lite at 33 kHz and 512 Hz. The Rex Lite transmitter is powered by 10 aa batteries. No matter, which version you choose, you will have multi frequency versatility.

In terms of overall design, this model is extremely light. There is no doubt that the receiver and transmitter are both relatively light together, weighing just under 7 pounds in total. Overall, the device is very portable and compact. During transport or in the field, the receiver can be retracted for easy carrying. There is a maximum depth capability of approximately 19 feet using the system. A rechargeable NiMH power pack which is 12V is used to power the signal transmitter. A single 9V is used to power the receiver. This model is backed by Schonstedt's 3 year warranty. The charging is supplied by an internal smart charger powered by an acdc power adapter. Generally speaking, these locators can be operated in a wide range of modes and frequencies. With its advanced features and portability, the Rex Pipe and Cable locator can be used for almost any type of locating challenge while emphasizing portability, size, and convenience. This locator can be collapsed for portability but can also expand for full functionality.

With up to 5 watts of output power, multiple frequencies, and an inductive antenna, the transmitter packs everything into a light and flat package. This model ships with a grounding rod stake. On the Rex's display, you will be able to see a directional arrows. The receiver of Rex is equipped with directional indicators displayed as arrows. In addition to visual and audible indicators, these devices also indicate which direction the user should move in order to get closer to the pipe or cable. Sonde mode does not allow the user to see these indicators. As a piece of land surveying equipment, the Rex offers a wide range of capabilities.
