Rugged Waterproof Design

The Fisher 1280X Aquanaut is fully waterproof. The unit provides a visual target response and includes a target-strength LED spotlight. It features Fisher's patented quartz-crystal technology. Beach hunting for long hunts is possible as the model offers up to 75 hours of battery life. The model runs on just 8 aa batteries. The control box can even be mounted on a belt for detecting on land. The Fisher 1280-X Aquanaut Waterproof Metal Detector has an operating frequency is 2.4 kHz. The model provides smooth operation in all environments, from metal detecting in shallow water or while beach hunting. The model offers an adjustable sensitivity control to fine tune the detector for any ground condition. A ground balance setting is not required on this model.  

Waterproof to 250 Feet

The 1280X is housed in the same rugged enclosures as the CZ-21, and both have collapsible pole assemblies. Diving requires a short pole assembly, while standing or wading requires full extension. They are both submersible up to 250 feet. With an optional chest harness, the control housing can be mounted on the hip or on the chest. The CZ-21 is known for being the best saltwater underwater metal detector ever made, while the 1280X is known for being the best freshwater detector, but both can be used in either environment. Choose from a 10.5" or 8" round search coil. Use either coil while treasure hunting for good targets.  Like all fisher products, this model all metal detecting parts are assembled in the United States.

This model also features automatic turn-on-and-go operation. You can use this in salt water, fresh water or on land. It is leak-proof to 250 feet and provides up to 75 hours of battery life. The patented quartz-crystal circuitry ignores small pieces of trash. This unit converts to a belt mount and the Fisher submersible waterproof headphones are included. While the 1280 is not a gold detector for prospecting, it will locate gold jewelry and coins with ease. There are two modes of operation. Using VLF discrimination, filter out junk targets using full range target discrimination. You can hear and see targets through audio and visual feedback.  The Fisher 1280X metal detector is deep-seeking and automatically adapts to changing conditions thanks to its turn-on-and-go operation. Using it is very easy. Fine tuning, threshold and ground balancing adjustments are not needed. Simply turn it on, set the volume, sensitivity, and discrimination, and you're good to go.
