STEP 1: Collect Information

Begin by gathering utility records from the local utility company or municipality and upload them into DXplore. If possible, visit the site to perform a visual inspection. Use an Electromagnetic Locator (EML) to search for power cables and other conductive utilities and mark them on the ground.

STEP 2: Map Utilities with Leica DSX

Set up a grid in the area of interest and collect utility data with the Leica DSX. Utilize automated post-processing to create a 3D utility map. The DSX can be paired with Leica GPS/GNSS systems for highly accurate, georeferenced maps, with support from data collected in STEP 1 to finalize the underground picture.

STEP 3: Excavate Safely

Mark utilities in the field based on the map or, for even greater efficiency, send the map directly to an excavator equipped with Leica MC1 or other Leica software suites such as DX Manager, Mapping, Infinity, and Captivate.
