The device easily distinguishes between iron objects, like valve lids, from other metals, like aluminum. The locator offers two modes, a motion mode to identify objects and a pinpoint mode that zeroes in on the object and determines whether it is ferrous or non-ferrous. It is self-tuning for quick and easy operation.
